Hi-

I want to mount a depth gauge on my Yamaha jet ski and hope some one can give me some guidance on where to position the transducer. I would like to put the ducer in the engine compartment, but will it transmit through the hull? Perhaps it should be attached to the stern - near the hull drains.

Other issues:

Where to pick up the 12 vdc is also an issue because I would like it to operate only when the engine is running.

Position of the 2" gauge face is also an issue as Yamaha does not have much of a dash board to drill. Perhaps a nacelle mount ?

The jet ski is a Yamaha SUV, four passenger, 1999 vintage with a 1200 cc - 3 cylinder engine.

Also have you done an install on a jet ski before and were you satisfied with the result??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks !

I know most of the people doing it do through hull and glue the transducer inside toward the back. I would pick up the 12v off the battery directly.
