2000 yamaha ls2000 help?

I have a 2000 ls2000 with 2ea-135hp engines. the left engine when in the water will sometimes stall and try to cut off between 3-5k rpm's. once above 5k it takes off and runs fine. When it starts stalling i can pull the choke out about a 1/4" and it takes off and runs fine.
It idles and runs fine with the exception of this.
