I have this problem with my ski. Its a Sport cruiser but I figured most of the motors are similiar if the not the same to each other, ok here is my question. When I try starting my engine it will just crank over and crank over, I poured a little fuel in the carb then it starts up then dies, So I poured more into the carb and try again this time when it started I reved the engine and it seemed to be going good for a few seconds then the rpm gets really high. I took my hand off the throttle and it continues to rev higher and higher on its own then all of a sudden dies on its own or I turn it off. then it wont start on its own again what could this mean? I know it wasnt the throttle sticking. bad carb? thank you

it is running really lean,, or there is a vacuum leak I would go through the carbs and inspect the gaskets at the base of the carbs the pulse tube and the reed gaskets.
