I have a 96 Polaris SLT 780 -- originally all the foot area was pad. (btw first time owner). My buddy has a 750 and that is all padding. His yamaha on the other hand has padding in the rear and grip tape up front for the feet. (he drinks alot, so he can't understand a simple question such as "which do you like better?")

Which got me thinking about my options, since I'm redoing this entire thing.. All pad or Pad and Grip?
I will be wearing water shoes while riding, so no bare feet..

In my situation, would you go all pad or half pad/half grip?

Maybe I had too many beers today too. Only been riding for about 25 years, so I don't know all the terminology.

My old skis back in the day had rubber mats glued to the foot wells and the swim/boarding platform. The newer ones today have Hydro-Turf. Some have aftermarket SeaDek, which imho is the cats meow.

Never heard of grip tape. Not sure if pads are rubber mats or not. If I were redoing a ski it would be SeaDek all the way. Whatever the choice I would do the whole boat in the same thing.
