Hey guys,
So I have an '03 sea doo. Ski started smoking out the back and locked up on me. I was pretty sure it was impeller.
Got her out of the water, and pulled the jet pump off. The impeller had cut through the plastic in the wear ring and hemmed itself up in the housing.
Motor spins over fine with the plugs out and the pump off. I have yet to run compression on her.
Anyways, What would be the cause for this to happen? I know that the main pump bearing would be a possible cause. Is there a bearing on the engine side of the driveshaft that needs to be checked?
