My boat is a 1986 Century Meridian, 28 feet long with a 454 merc and an Alpha One outdrive. I bought the boat in September of 2006 and the ss prop on the boat was rehubbed and let go. At that point I put the boat away for the winter.
The ss prop was a Quicksilver Mirage 15 and 1/4 inch with a 17 pitch. I bought a Solas Titan prop the same size and pitch. The boat at WOT turned 4500 rpm and went 37 mph.
The previous owner said he was getting 40 mph at 4400 rpm. Should I try chasing a little more speed? I think I'm mostly going to cruise at 25 to 30 mph.
