I've got a 98' SeaRay 190 with a 5.0L Alpha, 1.62 gears and the original 14.24 x 21 Black Max. I think the WOT is supposed to be somewhere between 4,200 and 4,800 but when I give it all the gas (when cruising) it sometimes jumps over 4,800. It runs fast (a consistent 40, more on a smooth day) but I would like just a little more; maybe 45-50. It also lags badly getting onto plane, even though it accelerates well enough. The whole boat has only seen about 150 hours of run time but the prop could be in better shape. I need a new prop but I have absolutely no idea what to get. I know it's alot to ask for a better whole shot and more speed but I imagine that the stock Black Max has plenty of room for improvement. The enertia looks nice but should I match the old prop with something that different or make a step in either direction?
