Now we got pictures. That's an air cooled Tecumseh powerhead. The numbers on the tag are likely the powerhead number. Its basically a lawn mower engine that Eska used in some years. Its also likely an early 1970's model.

I have a good library with my collection but I can't find any references to your motor re. spark plug type or gap, or oil blend requirements. It's kind of an obscure engine and not many were ever sold. You could probably use chain saw oil, but why try to save a couple bucks on a prize like that. If it were mine I'd use cheap wallyworld TCW-3 at 24:1. If it smokes too much, reduce it to 40:1.

Don't use tcw 3 in an air cooled motor. The reason is that air cooled engines run hotter than water cooled engines and tcw-3 is not designed for that. A good 2 strk air cooled oil will work much better in that motor and help it last much longer. That motor is not rare at all.

I wasn't implying that the motor was rare. Only, that they were not collectable and there probably aren't too many around any more. JohnnyRudes and Mercs are sought after, and thus there is a lot of information out there as far as specs and available parts.
