Hi there, just repowered my sea ray CC with a 2004 250 Hp Evinrude DI. The boat is 22’. I have a 19 pitch prop that came with it. With the 19 pitch i get on plane quick, great hole shot, gets up to about 45 at 5600 RPM. I’ve been considering jumping to the 21 pitch to gain more speed at lower RPM’s. Not looking race, just get down river quicker at lower RPM on the motor. Wondered what thoughts you guys had. I know over pitching a small motor can fry it, but this is 250 hp, so i dont think that as much an issue.

thanks

Over propping a big motor is no different than over propping a small motor, except the pile of damaged parts is bigger. Your engine's WOT operating range is 5500 - 6000, so you are already at the low end. A 17 would be a better choice. In addition you have a FICHT version 2, and the FICHT never did take kindly to over propping
