I was given a prop which I have no idea what it off of. Based on the design is looks like a performance prop. It’s 16” in diameter 3 blades and made from bronze. It’s marked with MCL 165 L26P. On one side and 8 89 or 68 8 depending on how you look at it. Can anyone assist?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Agree with the above. Think it’s a chopper and likely off the port engine/shaft of a twin engine performance boat rig.

Thanks guys. I've been sitting on this for years and always wondered what it was. Does this thing have any value outside of scrap?

Thanks,
Dave

No idea what it’s worth across there (if you in North America). Be unlikely to suit many boats here in the uk, but likely plenty over there. Generally LH rotation props are worth less than RH though. Someone on here will know more about it’s intended application. Looks to be from a shaft drive to me, if it’s only keyed and no splines. Could stick it on for sale on the usual sites, but it won’t be a commonly used thing apart from on certain boats I’d say.

Oh it is splined. Just zoomed in. Might just be from a drive ? Certainly left hand rotation though.
