So can anyone recommend a prop for my boat? It’s a 2004 GX205 with the 5.0GL motor. Has a 14.5 x21 prop on it now. Not sure on rpm as I have that sent in for repair. Looking for a prop that will help with tubing/wakeboarding. With a decent load in the boat and pulling a 2 person tube it’s takes time to get the boat up on plane and also the tube. It has the Volvo Penta drive.

To answer your question we need more info
What is current WOT rpm with regular loaded boat?
What is current WOT speed using a gps or your phone app?
What is the drive ratio?

Not sure on rpm as stated the tach is sent in for repair. With just the typical load (3) my phone app shows 46mph. 1.60. It will be loaded down majority of the time now though.

Going to have to wait for rpm readings.
As example: if your 46mph was achieved with motor turning 4800 rpm, then you have 22% slip
If it was turning 4200 rpm then its 11% slip
If it was turning 4000 rpm then its 7% slip

In the examples above, the 22% would tell us something is wrong with the hull, or something else is wrong
The 11% says we need to reduce prop pitch, and 7% also says same but will probably need to change drive ratio to be best.

Right now we just don't know
