Hi, got a guy selling a Michigan Wheel stainless steel 3-blade prop. It's 14.25 dia/21 p (model # 993005). Anyone know if this will fit a Mercruiser Alpha 1, Gen 2 out drive? And might such a prop be a good fit for an 18 ft, 2500 lb bowrider runabout with a 4.3 Merc?

It might, if it has the correct splines, or hub kit. As for it being a good fit, well that depends on what RPM it allows the engine to rev to at WOT. Which of course is dependent on load, and gear ratio.

Hi
all here to help and there are some prop wizards on here. Amazing knowledge with some of these guys...but they likely won’t reapond unless you give them some key details to work with.

Try ans look up the prop yourself and see what it comes up with first off. It likely will, but will require a specific hub kit to suit....that’s not the end of it though. Fitting prop is the least of it. It may well fit, but be of no use to your set up.

You need to provide the follwing for starters

current prop “
current wot speed with that prop (gps)
current rpm at wot
gear ratio on the drive
what you want from the boat...acceleration for water sports, all round useability or top end.

See if you can gove is this and you will get a wealth of knowledge back.
