I found a good deal on a 14x19 pitch Laser 2 15 spline 48-16544a45 prop. I can’t figure out why it wouldn’t fit but most Laser 2 info I see is for outboards.
Does it use a plastic flo-torq hub or a pressed in rubber hub? A laser2 will work fine on the alpha outdrive. You just need to make sure you have the correct hub.
Curt, Alpha 1 and the larger (4-3/4") Merc OB gearcases share props. They would also share hubs as well,either pressed in or modular. If it fits a V6 Merc OB, it should fit your Alpha.
Never was a 4-3/8 gearcase for V-6....been the same ID since V-6 was made. Outboards props are different from IO props as thy are vented which IO don't need and rake of blade is different,but sometimes with right hull and load the IO will run good with a OB prop,
Quick guide for the laser...if it’s an odd number pitch (above 17”) it will fit the alpha one and Merc V6’s (and some odd versions using the same bigger gear case. If it’s and even number...like and 18” or 20”...it’s for the smaller gear case outboards like a 75 or 90 standard (not including big foot).
What boat is it on ? Although he laser 2 is a superb all rounder...it’s not ideal for all boats.
