Hi I am relatively new to boating I have a 1983 sea ray 270 sundancer with a 454 330 hp merc borg velvet trans and I would say a trs outdrive? I have a 3. Lade aluminum on there now and I want to go with a 4 blade ss to help plane out with people and having little trouble finding what pitch and prop I should go with any thoughts

Welcome to Iboats,

That's a shot in the air, without wot rpm test, engine's min-max wot range data, passenger load, intended application use it's impossible to dial anything that has blades on it.

Happy Boating

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Ya probably oughta drop an inch or 2 of pitch,....

Just findin' props to fit the TRS might be tough enough by itself,....

Your prop selection will depend on your present performance. and prop size.
For the health of your motor it needs to be able to rev freely within its rated wot rpm range.
If the rpm is ideal a 1 or 2 " reduction in pitch should maintain rpm.
