I'm trying to find a replacement fuel cap for a 2006 Sunchaser pontoon, it has a built in vent on the backside of the cap and I'm thinking that sometimes it is not opening after setting awhile. I get gas leaking out of the motor cover and only when it sets for a while and not necessary every time.

It sounds like you might have an EPA tank but the original tank from 2006 wouldn't have an EPA cap unless the tank has been replaced.

The cap is actually located on the outside of the body, has a little black vent ( held in by 2 screws) with a screen behind it. It looks like whne the pressure is building up the air is allowed behind and then pushes open the valve,( black valve pushed into a hole and is free to go in and out) to go back down the line?
