New to pontoons, I just bought a 24' Lowe (1996) pontoon and just wondered if the pontoons are foam filled ?

Lowe has round tubes so they are hollow, no foam.

And by the way that is not something you want to do, it adds weight and if you ever get a leak the foam with saturate and you are hosed, no way to undo it.

Also popular myth, if you fill the tubes with air the have more buoyancy, not true.

The only way to increase buoyancy is to increase the size of the tubes or lose weight..

Turtle,
My old pontoon boat has U-shaped logs and has worked fine for me for the past five years. I doubt you have foam. Why does it matter to you either way?

P.S. If there is a drain plug on the back, open it the next time the boat is out of the water and feel around in there with a long rod. That should give you a definitive answer.

According to this old 1994 Lowe pontoon boat brochure that year model had foam inside the pontoons.
