My 6hp weighs 35 pounds less than my Yamaha 15. Much easier on this 53 yo back. Would the 6 give a comfortable displacement speed ride? I'm afraid it would be a dog at full throttle while trying to plane. All I'm looking for is a comfortable (albeit slow) ride.

Can anyone recommend a prop pitch?

With 6 HP will plane with 1 up, my doubts with 2 heavy mates. To play with pitch would need to perform a wot test to see actual prop max rpm parameters at wide open throttle and have some spare props to test. If opting for more final speed will sacrifice hole shot and vice verse. Depending on the type of outting you intend doing use 6 for slow ride & pottering around, 15 for speed and much more fun divertimento.

Happy Boating
