Anyone know where to go for good fishing in Socal?

Just got a boat last week and we are planning our FIRST boating and fishing trip. So excited. But now I'm just not sure where to go. I heard yellowtail is great, and other flats, bass etc. I would love to catch some Yellowtail and make some Hamachi sashimi.

Anyone know where to go for these and what bait to use?

Ongjer, put it in the saltwater section might have better luck.

Have you found your spot yet? Yellowfin and bluefin are biting really close to shore lately. Find kelp patties 5+ miles and out or go about 7 to 10 miles out and chunk (chum) and fish with live sardines or small mackeral. I have been fishing off of North San Diego with some luck lately.

You can also get some nice bass at the kelp beds.
