We live in DFW TX and taking a trip to Broken Bow OK this summer. We're thinking of taking our boat (18 foot, 2001 Chaparral, no depth finder). Is it a fun lake? Most important, how safe is the lake for boating. Lots of stumps, sand bars, etc...? We plan on just driving around and exploring, and the kids will want to tube. This is our third year boating and we've mainly just boat in our area reservoirs.

Any and all input is appreciated.

JP127, I would contact the visitor burial for that state for info on that lake to make sure you can use your boat there, the lake is at proper pool, and the actual condition about stumps, rocks, sandbars, and if it is even safe to rube around. They would know about it, I would think. JMHO

Doesn't sound too safe to me, GM.

How does auto-correct come with some of these transpositions? LOL

Wiki has a short write up and pics of a lot of boats - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_Bow_Lake

They have a website as well - http://www.brokenbowlake.org/

It sounds like a good lake to visit, JP.

Oh GA_Boater, I wish it was auto-correct. But sadly is wasn't! Spelling was never ever a strong point with me and still isn't either. If I could type what my mind is saying, it would always come out right. But that never happens. But I hope it at least made a few folks smile anyways. Then at least something good came out of it.
