Cotter Pin recommendation

I'm installing a new stainless propeller on a Suzuki DT100. The current alum one uses a steel cotterpin on a nut with slots. Is steel the recommendation - or should I buy a stainless pin? Also since this boat will be outside - is there a way to lock on the prop when out of the water - so it doesn't walk away short of un-installing?

Go to your dealer and get a prop lock if you think other people might want it...stainless props aint cheap to replace, and I would always use SS pins in water. Don't save a buck to loose a couple hundred.

I pull my SS props every trip. Not a big deal.
