Hey everyone, I'm new to the boating world and bought a 2004 Bayliner 185 to get started. Having the Mercruiser 3.0 and low hours, I've had a great time taking my fiance and family out on the water. I plan to hold onto it for the rest of this year then sell to upgrade into a slightly bigger bowrider. My budget is around $10,000 and I'd like to have a slightly larger 18' - 20' boat with the 4.3L V6 Mercruiser. I also want a fiberglass deck. I've done some looking around and came across a few manufacturers..

Can I get your thoughts? I really like the Maxum 1900 SR3, Glastron 185, Bayliner 205, Monterey 194 fs, etc.. I would say Sea-Ray, but they seem overpriced.

I love my Bayliner, but want a little more power and size in the next boat.

Monterey & Chaparral top your list. If you can find one for 10K.......... Good luck

10K + whatever you sell the 185 for, or 10K tops? The 185 is worth around 7K (Around here).

$10K is just over what I just sold my 2005 3.0L Bayliner 195 Classic for, so you are not going to be able to get a huge upgrade for 10K.

@Oldjeep - I'm out of Florida, so the market has 185s selling for slightly less than 7k. From what I can see, mid-2000s models are listing for 12,000ish.. My budget would be 10K with whatever I'd sell my Bayliner for. Just trying to see what people would recommend as far as quality and such go. Thanks!
