Just wanted to get an opinion on the hydrasport 230 seahorse series. This boats engine in on a platform. The benefit is having more "boat space" whats the downfall? Is this a seaworthy vessel?

Re: 230 Hydrasport without an OMC Engine

I own a 1996 Hydra-Sports 22ft walkaround. It is very similar to the seahorse series although it is not officially called a "seahorse". I love my boat. It is a very high quality hull with solid construction. It is very seaworthy as I have been fishing offshore many times in South Florida. It is a tad heavy so I would get the maximum horsepower available if you can. I am running a 200hp outboard and If I had to do it again I would probably opt for the 225. If you're buying one new, I might be a little wary of putting OMC power on the boat due to the bankruptcy of OMC and the uncertainty of warranty with bombardier. The local Hydra-Sports dealer has been rigging them with Yamahas. Good luck...
