Many people see wooden boats as very short lived because they see the pleasure boat world where people are lazy and often don't take care of what in effect are meer playtoys.

Ain't that the truth. That's why I would never buy a used boat. A little lipstick and she might look good, but a year down the road the floor is rotten.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can leave a good boat uncovered, bow down, in the rain and show year after year, while they would never consider leaving their car windows open in a rainstorm.

Cars are even more of a laziness example. When I was a kid all the neighbors on my street put their cars in the garage all of the time. Now, garages a full of crap and the car rots in the driveway. More than just laziness - we all just have too much disposable income. No respect for working hard and taking care of your property.
