Introduce myself

I'm new here and would like to introduce myself. Was into boating 20yrs ago but got out to raise kids and restore VW beetles. I was thrust back in with a gift of a 1979 Ankorcraft tri-hull 120 Mercruiser I/O.The more we work on it the more we like it. Seems to be very solid and runs nice in the water. This will be a family project, it needs a lot of TLC and cash. Did a compression check last night and got 1-135, 2-85, 3-125, 4-135 wet#2-85. I think I have a burnt valve. Runs great but I will be digging into it soon. Mark

While the valve may be the source of the low compression, don't pull the head until you adjust the valves for that cylinder. Either one or both may be too tight causing it not to close fully.
