my trim /tilt won't go down , why?

it will go up but it won't go down, i check switch and its fine , and i pull the lock lever <br />off. don't know. evinrude 135 1976. why?

My 1992 Johnson would go down but not up. I followed the wires to the relay box, switched the relays and it would go up but not down. A $6 relay from NAPA solved the problem. Of course I siliconized the bottom of the relay to seal against moisture.

It could be a relay or lack of fluid in the pump. Try them both.

thanks for replying , u 'll were right the relay went bad , its working now,and its also low on fluids...need to get some. thanks again.
