All that talked about was racing boats, hydroplanes and catamarans, I saw a PolarCraft Bass boat that said it was a tunnel hull. I and I was just wondering what it meant.

Nathan ,a tunnel hull is one in which the centerline of boats bottom has a contoured undercut and allows the engines lower unit or outdrive to run closer to flush with bottom of boats hull. This undercut creates a water tunnel, hence the term"tunnel hull."They use a lot of them here on the Texas gulf coast for fishing flats ,which allows the boat to run shallower without lower unit running ground.

There are also lots of displacement hulls that have various versions of tunnel drive. They're all intended to push water into the prop more efficiently...and to help keep the props from damage when sitting on a beach during low tide. Many of the commercial fishing boats in the PAC/NW are so designed.
Here's a couple of examples:
http://www.gsiboat.com/cgi-bin/fishpics.cgi?boat=GILS032592&type=bbay
http://www.gsiboat.com/cgi-bin/fishpics.cgi?boat=GILS032620&type=bbay
