I have a '96 181 champion and in need of new seats but can not figure out how to remove the old one. Anybody know the technique?

If you're speaking of the pedestals, I believe you need to soak WD-40 into the ped. base for a day or two and then use a pipe wrench and good old elbow grease to get them out. There's a good chance you'll ruin the pedestal BTW.

or try dynamite.

It is the bench seat with compartments under them. Just can't figure out how to get at them!

Have you checked with Champion? There might be a panel covering the hardware that they know about, or some kind of trick. There's no screw's visable on the underside of the seat when you raise it up to get to the compartments? Weird. Pics might help us if you've got any.

Love those boats btw.

spots
