restoring 1967 star craft 15' jet star

OK here we go. New member and this may sound crazy but I have a hole near bow in the middle under the boat in the V. Looks like it has always been there but not sure if it is for ballast in middle of boat or what. Anyone else notice this on your old 15 ft. Star Craft aluminum boat. Does not go thru into boat. Size hole about 1/4""

Nope. Its factory. Weep hole to make sure water that gets into the keel strip can get out. Should be another back by the transom along the keel
