I was told it's a 1964 dorsett but I'm not sure what exact model it is. I know I have to rebuild the whole thing. The original owner (guys dad passed away and had to get rid of the boat) stated that his dad got it from dorsett at his private lake. This painting is the only thing I can find that looks close.

Welcome aboard. Lee.

Fiberglassics has a Dorsett page, but nothing for 1964. 1962 has some models that look promising. Compare the measurements with brochure specs.

Got paperwork?

I have the registration but it only says dorsett 1964 haha. I tried joining fiberglassics but know one has approved me to be able to use the forum. Its 22ft in length. Inboard 4 cylinder.

The library I linked to doesn't require forum registration to access. And I neglected to add the link!

If she is a 21 footer, you may have a Farallon. Here is the link  - http://www.fiberglassics.com/library/index.php?title=File:Dorsettb62004.jpg

Have any more pics?

Being an early Mercruiser, I'm pretty sure it has to be a '63 at least since I think that is when the Merc I/O came out.

Ontop of that, I would recomend re powering with a later drive since you will likely have to gut it anyway.. The early Mercruiser is mostly NLA

NLA means No Longer Available. It refers to OEM parts.

HIN's , not VIN's, started in 1972. 12 characters beginning with 3 letters.

The picture is too dark to ID the drive for age determination.

That's an old one. The serial number on the Mercruiser tag will ID the drive exactly.

What motor does she have?

yeah, that was/ is the common setup. It's a 153 CI Chevrolet 4cyl based on their inline 6. The motor was built exclusively for the Nova in the cars, but Marine and industrial applications got them as well.. If you get the serial numbers, I can date/ identify it as I have a Mercruiser manual that goes back to '63

That boat would likely benefit from a 4.3L V6

If it is a Renault engine you DO NOT WANT TO EVEN TRY TO USE THAT AGAIN. Some Ranger bass boats came with that package, nobody around here liked working on them.
The brochure picture looks like a Eaton style drive, some of the real early Eatons had a Ford Falcon engine.
Hopefully you have a Chevy 4 cylinder.
