What Are These For?

One of these screws down to the floor on each side of our engine. One facing the batteries and the other facing a small open space. I'm figuring they have something to do with engine heat, but just not sure.

Anyone know?

My guess would be that they are just to help keep stuff from sliding into the engine.

my guess someone made them to hold the batteries, a cooler, or a tool box or tackle box from sliding into the motor.

They wouldn't be for the batteries. With our Dual Battery set-up, both batteries are in holders with a strap holding them down. This could be true for the other side, since it is a small open space.

If we don't store or put anything on either side, guess we wouldn't need to have those on. Right? We store everything either in the cuddy cabin, under the bench seat or in the storage area in the gunwale inside the boat.
