adding a kicker to my fish hawk 1650

i have a 90 hp mercury with a terrova on the front but was thinking about adding a small kicker to the back for extra security ( I do buy towing insurance every year). some of the smaller ones seem fairly light, could I just hang it from the transom or would I need a bracket?

Depends on the big guy.Its all about clearance.My 6hp 1974 Johnson sits right beside my 60hp 2011 etec with zero issues.

And my boat is 1976 so its not near as wide as newer ones.

I keep contemplating on getting a small kicker also, The trolling motor is only good for a mile or so depending on conditions. Did it once when my motor quit, a bit nerve wacking with rough water,
