New Ski Boat - question before buy ?

I posted recently a thread about a 1998 Pro Star 205 which I am looking into. 640 hours. I am going to do a water test tomorrow. The current owner has owned it for three years and does all his own maintenance. What questions do you suggest I ask the owner about the boat and maintenance? I want to make sure I ask the right questions to get a proper sense of whether this boat will be reliable and was well taken care of. Reliability is of paramount importance to me. Many thanks

Keep in mind that boats in general are not overly reliable. But it would be nice to know the maintenance/repair history to get a sense of what the current owner has done.

start by reading the link that Ted posted

keep in mind, its a 21 year old boat, which by its design life, is near its end. if its been well maintained, and you keep on top of it, it could potentially last another 20 years, however it will need some work to do so
