Owner's manuals were more of a safety guide for general boating. Not usually too much there even for operating instructions. What you need to find is a manual for your motor, and then ask the rest of your questions here.
I purchased a brand new boat from the show room floor.... and no owners manual. There was a book that covered all 4.3 motors and you just had to know what one you had and even that was general information, lol.
