Hey everyone, just bought my first boat and am super excited to get it out on the water. Come on summer. Any rips or things to look out for on this boat would be greatly appreciated. Seller said the bellows needed replacing.

Welcome aboard

If the bellows have failed, you may need to also replace the u-joints and gimble bearing

Pull the drive and see what is what

Do not forget to do a raw water pump and alignment while you are at it

Your original topic title ID'd it correctly:

1973 Starcraft Chieftain 24ft

So I merged the new topic into the old. Please avoid posting multiple topics about the same subject.

The M4 in the registration you posted refers to Mark 4, a 70s model designation for Starcraft Cheiftains. Lots of good Starcraft info in here
http://forums.iboats.com/forum/owners-groups-by-manufacturer/s/starcraft-boats

and here
https://forums.iboats.com/forum/own...ures-past-splashes-member-map-rebuilds-restos

unfortunately the 1973 brochure is not listed.

what state are you in? Some states can be challenging (if its required) to title boats that dont come w title and registration. Bills of sale arent enough in some states....

:welcome: aboard and to the Starmada!

Has your big Chief been restored or had any work done on it such as new transom and decking?
