Been offered a neat condition 2001 Maxum 2800 Express Cruiser with dual 190 HP Merc Inboard engines with 240 metered worked hours. Does anyone have same boat in current use that will share his boating experience with this model. What to look for, flaws, engine related issues...

Asking price is 40 grand, but less cash money inside a small suit case opened at seller eyes always talks much better. LOL!!

Happy Boating

Marc, being a 2001, its twin 4.3's with Alpha drives

the 470 motor went away in 87

Sea Rider condition is everything.
since the motors are 4.3's 99% probability of them being raw water cooled. what is the age of the manifolds. if your in salt, the motors should be on the 3rd set of manifolds

get a survey

Maxum is a former Brunswick boat, sister company to SeaRay and Bilgeliner. However the boat is coming up on 18 years old. condition is all that maters.

$40k is almost double what you can find them - do a google search, Yacht World has some in the low 20's with a median price of $23k. for $40k, the boat better be gold plated

Thanks, yes Merc inboards with alpha drives. Were there 6 cylinder 190HP engine versions in 2001 ? This 2800 is for a friend of mine. Don't need anything larger from what already have in current use.
