80s Glasply Impulse Reviews?

Can't find much info on these boats, anyone know anything about them? What I've gathered is that the hull is a copy of a donzi with fiberglass floor and stringers - true? Wood transom? How do they do in rough water? The freeboard seems shorter than the older glasplys.

People seem to prefer the 70s glasply boats over those made in the 80s, why?

Any other thoughts or experiences with these boats is appreciated.

I don't know much about Glasply but any boat built back in the 80's i would look over carefully unless you're looking for a project due to wood rot.
