What the heck are these for?

I recently bought a 1993 17'6" Champion Fish&Ski.?

These two lightweight aluminum poles were in storage under a seat.?

Anyone know what they're for?

Curiously, they resemble the lengths of navigation lights, but these are just poles, no electrical.?

They aren't adjustable in a telescopic way - they don't get longer or shorter. Those black clamps will slide up and down, and I assume their purpose is to stop the poles from going into a hole any further. Looking at where they're currently set, the longer appears to drop into a hole pretty far - 13 inches.

I'm sure I'll feel dumb when someone points out what they are, but it'll be worth it.?

They are poles for holding your boat cover or canopy up. Tonneau cover, or what ever you guys call them. They basically prop up the cover over your boat to stop rain water gathering a puddle on it.

I checked if they are the same diameter as the seat mounts. They are.
Mystery solved, thank you.
