Thinking of upsizing to a 1987 44ft. Viking or a 1988 46ft Post...Both have Detroits with about 1800 hours per motor...692s in the Post and 671s in Viking...Any comments would be appreciated regarding the boat or motors...Thank you

Hmmm, ...... You will have more luck posting this question on a number of other sites as relatively few people here will have experience with boats that size.

(I would try on "THT")

Ayuh,.... I ain't a big Detroit guy, but generally speakin', a diesel oughta get 10,000 hours before a major overhaul,....

Provided proper maintenance, 'n clean fuel is fed them,...

After looking them over I would hire a surveyor and have a oil analysis done.

Hull preference depends on needs.

Viking for cruising. Post if you fish
