UUUhhhhmmmmm...... this thread needs to be deleted immediately before our wives see any of it! LOL

+1 on that!

After last-year's re-power, my $ outlay, and time spent working on the boat. has translated this season into mostly just going and enjoying it - priceless! Oh, now I've done it...

$60 in gas so far - been raining...alot this summer in my neck of the woods

$13 for trailer wiring extension - Toyota for whatever reason moved the 7pin connector on the 4runner just behind the rear wheel so custom extension was made to avoid dragging the trailer harness on pavement. Not sure what wonderful engineer thought that one up but they need another job.

$12 for rope to hold down the travel cover - was a cheaper option than new straps. I'm on a budget!!

$3 in pool noodles - cut these up to tape over sharp edges so as to not cut through the travel cover. Works like a charm!

Still pending winterization soon....unfortunately. Probably be about $200 for that.

I just bought mine (2004).

On top of the boat purchase. I've spent money on...

Custom cockpit cover made (original was trashed).. $950
Replacement Guest 4" spotlight (original had no up/down movement and did always swing back) $200
Misc bedding, pillows, organization stuff for cabin $200
Bumper lines and new dock lines $100
Replacement bow anchor roller (learned the expensive way that my anchor hits my trailer stop/roller if launching deeping) $150
New 29 Deep cycle for house bank - $100
Fortress FX7 for stern anchor - $125
NYS Taxes/Registration for boat and trailer - $2100

Up to $3900 not counting the gas I have purchased while towing at around ~8mpg and put in the boat (~$200).

All this before my first payment.... And I still want to replace all my cabin lights with LEDs before season end.

I have a buddy that runs 18-20 races a year...... his total out-of-pocket expenditures are about $8k for this year on tires, motor, cage, etc (he does have sponsors that cover about half the total bill)......I have said it before, boating is an expensive hobby

This season was the least expensive since I bought my StarCraft 190 8 years ago. Simply because the boat got wet a total of 2 times, Perch fishing on Lake Simcoe in May and a 3 day trip Walleye fishing at Port Burwell Ontario, lake Erie in August. I didn't get her a slip this year. My health wasn't the greatest over the spring and summer, better now since surgery 2 weeks ago, much better. Dr. used a 18 Volt Dewalt drill to ream out the sinus cavities. Believe it or not zero pain, nothing, nada, niema. Should have done it 12 years ago, idiot woos.

1 tank of gas $110.00
Trailering boat a few hundred K's $200.00
Ramp fees $40.00
Accommodations for fishing trips $200.00
1 bottle of Phase Separation $12.00
1 bottle of Seafoam (yea I know) $9.00
2 gallons plumbers anti freeze on sale $8.00
1 can of fogging spray $10.00
1500 mls lower end gear lube $ $30.00
lower end seals $3.00
1 box of Dryer Sheets (no charge taken from laundry room)
4 bars of Irish Spring soap $5.00 $ store
Insurance $300.00
Tackle I didn't use $300.00
Indoor storage Barter job, de oxidize/wax 23' glass cuddy. Cost, sore body.

If you don't get the bottom of the boat wet boating can be inexpensive if you don't think about what the boat cost when you bought it. I have to make up for it next year.

I had mentioned in the beginning of this thread that I had needed to get a swing tongue added/cut and welded on to my trailer for it to fit in my garage. I did end up doing that early fall and the the boat fits by about six inches. I did have to lower the tongue jack all the way to the ground for it to fit into the garage door but it did. It cost me about $300 bucks and took about six weeks for the supplier to get the part to the welder because the trailer is 3 x 5 construction and for whatever reason took forever. Between the full stereo, speaker, wiring, amplifiers, subwoofers, new transom and dash remotes, the smart battery switch that I never got installed and the lower water intake failure on the engine and some misceleaneous but not fuel, I spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $4,000 with the stereo upgrade being the majority of it.

A boat is a hole in the water that you just keep tossing money in and just waiting for it to fill up. But seriously the first time my kids say ?hey dad do you remember that one time on the river? that?ll make it worth ten fold of what I ever spent my friend.

I don't bother to keep track, it could be depressing.
I'm fortunate though (knock on wood), I haven't had to do any out of the ordinary repairs in quite a while.

Well, I bought my new boat this year so on top of the down payment, monthly payments, dock fees, and winterization and storage fees, I've paid more than I want to admit. :bowl:

$$$$, my truck broke.... It is required to have a 4X4 truck to pull your boat, right?
