Metal plate below swim platform - any ideas?

Hi, we have a Birchwood 340 which has a metal plate attached below the swim platform - it appears to have been factory fitted but we have no idea of its purpose.

That is more than likely a bracket for installing a dingy bracket. I can't figure what else it could be, except a bracket for a small kicker mount. How about installing a slide from the top deck, and attaching the bottom to that?

I agree with it being a dingy bracket. Looks like there is definitely enough vertical space for a dinghy so it would make sense.
