I am not sure which way to go--I have a Cobalt 246 that I use in Lake Tahoe---I have grown tired to using socks which are a pain and at times are not able to get the speed slow enough

I am debating between an engine mounted trolling motor but I am leaning towards a kicker--

The boat is 4000 lbs--what size kicker would you suggest--bracket etc??? Would there be a problem with a kicker on the boat when it is used for wakeboarding etc???

Thanks much!

Ahoy, Capt. Rick

Welcome to iboats. :)

This might work better in the Boat Forum, but I will leave it here for now. If you get too little response I will try moving it there.

I think a kicker is the way to go on that one.

I would look for a 9.9/15, maybe a 4 stroke, for trolling only. If you want an auxilary to get you home in case of a powerplant failure I might go to 20-25hp.

I agree with JB. The motor may get in the way and force you to remove just the outboard when water sports are involved.
