I haven't been paying much attention to the bassin' world other than struggling to regain my old skills when I get a chance.

I've been a Bassmaster for some 35 years and was surprised to learn of the major changes happening there when I read my November issue of B.A.S.S. Times. Turns out that a new organization, Major League Fishing, has sucked up the bulk of the top talent from the Bassmaster group.

As in 82 of 108 of the top competitors!

From what I read, the entry fees will be lower and payouts higher in the MLF which is sponsored (owne?) by Bass Pro Shops. And the pros were saying something about how B.A.S.S. treated them like employees instead of customers. So the move helps them feel more like they're in business for themselves.

And the world continues to change... even in fishing. :fish2:

Anybody else have info?

I was surprised that many went over,..

MLF required a 3 year commitment and is the only circuit they can fish for 3 years,...

It does make for a great TV show,..

Classic Bass in MN is starting a mlf format Walleye circuit for next year,..
If they have an open it might look tempting,...
