Barb less hooks.

Please forgive my ignorance. I have fished for some years and have always used barbed hooks. Now I am old I question the sense in using them for two reasons.
One the difficulty of hook removal and two, my youngest grand kids are into fishing and if they get a hook stuck in somewhere it would be so much easier to remove a barbless hook. The guys on TV dont have issues with hook removal. Are they using barb less hooks.

I doubt they are using barb less hooks on TV.

We're required to use them during the preseason. They are problematic for an experienced angler to say the least. I can't imagine the frustration a young kid would have with them.

We are required to use barbless on almost all waters now, not really that much of an issue. We frequently run them even when they're not required because of the same easy to release fish and easy to remove from your buddy or kid advantages.
