Suzuki 9.9 cooling question

Hi,

Last year my mom bought herself a boat with a 9.9 Suzuki. Its a new outboard and ran nice until it started sneezing and starting went really bad. I fixed that. But another thing that concerns me is the cooling. Water coming out the pie hole is completely cold and that won't change, even not after running a whole day. And the engine is too hot to touch.

Could the problem be the thermostat or is it normal for this outboard that water coming out the piehole is cold.

Thanks in advance

check to make sure alarm systems work properly
if they do then I would not worry .
too hot to touch maybe a different temp for different people.
Best to measure and give proper info

I am not familiar with Zuks but on Yamaha's the tell tails comes off before it runs through the heat generating parts of motor
