I have an old 14' aluminum Mod-V skiff (1960 vintage) with a 1996 Merc 9.9 2-stroke on it now. I injured my back and have to go to an electric start so I'm not yanking on the cord every time. I've decided on going up to a 15 HP Yamaha electric, and need some advice on where to buy it. Should I purchase it at a local dealer or online? I'm concerned about warranty maintenance, and whether a local dealer will honor it if the motor was bought online. Also, where can I get the best price?
