I have a 2001 Yamaha F50 four stroke. I'm leaking water in the small bolts to the right of the spark plugs. Are these freeze plugs or an overflow pressure release? Will it hurt to run the engine with this water leak? I've never noticed this before. This engine only has about 300 hours on it. Thanks

Re: Yamaha 2001 F50 Water Leak

I think what you are referring to are your zinc anodes. Yes you should correct the water leak. Remove the bolt and pull the anode and the holder out there should be a rubber insert around the holder to make a seal on the head you should be able to get them from any yamaha dealer or at boats.net

Post a picture of what you're looking at. The anodes or the bolts for the thermostat housing is what I assume you're talking about.
