i recently bought a boat that has a suzuki 150 hp v6 the boat runs great on the hose. when we take it out on the water it seems to do great, throttles up nice and planes out really quick. but when you give her the goods she will hit 55-60 and stay and then loose power and die.

kinda scary when you lose power going that fast. you get really wet to. after that happens it doesnt start for about 5 mins and then runs really bad.

took it to a shop and they said everything was good and just changed the spark plugs and cleaned the carbs and adjusted them.

took it to the water again and wouldnt even hit 55 before it did it.

any suggestions? would really help thanks!

Sounds like you maybe running out of gas. Fuel pump? Filters? Is the bulb on your fuel line staying hard or is it going soft when this happens? Have you tried pumping the bulb when you are having issues? If the bulb is collapsing you may have a venting problem on your fuel tank. If you pump the bulb and the motor runs better it may be a fuel pump issue. Check for air leaks in your fuel line too. Good luck.

im going to try changing the fuel filter and see what that does. the bulb does go soft after this happens. when i pump it, it doesnt seem to get hard till about 5 mins of letting it sit.
