Yamaha 15 hp no spark

I have a 2001 f15EHZ. It started but would not run with choke off. I pulled plugs and 1 plug was fouled. I cleaned both plugs and reinstalled. Now I have no spark to either plug. I removed plugs and grounded them against the block turned motor over and no spark to either plug. Is this the right way to check???

Has this motor been used in salt water? If it has then the plug wire connections could be corroded. Take a look.

No, All wires are clean with no corrosion.
