3.5HP air-cooled engine - 3.5AC 642S 006920

I've got no idea what year it is. Does not have an all-in-one cover; has exposed tank on top, with two plastic side panels and a cover over the spark plug (if that helps?)

can anyone of your experts tell me its age please

thank you:D

Yamaha didn't start importing outboards into the US until 1984 and no air cooled models. What you probably have is a model built for overseas use and someone brought it in the US.

The 642S Makes it a 3.5AC built between 1969 and 1980 I'm just wondering if in the serial no. 006920 whether the 69 has any significance making it a 69 model, Don't know thats just a guess! it was definately built between 69 and 80

Just to clarify

Im in the uk so that would explain a little. Im sure your right it is built for oversea use but its not been imported to you guys ( I doubt anyone would want the darn thing lol)

I would not be supprised to hear this is as old as 1969

Im supprised its got the pro's stumped, It must be old

cheers for the help if anyone can get its age I'd be very grateful

Funny thing is it runs light clockwork:redface:
