Im not sure of my gas consumption it seems to be normal though. I have gone fishing two days in a row traveling 20 miles one way out then back and still had 1/4 tank left so it does ok. i know im might not be much help, however i will keep a closer eye on it.

Two of my friends have older 85 Yamaha's and use them almost daily. One's a duck hunting guide and uses his year around. They say their motors are great.

The 85's are fairly common in Norway, they first came in 82/83 and were replaced with the 90hp in 84/85. And were reintroduced as the C85 , a lower cost alternative without oil inj. in the early 90's I think.

Old post but I have a 1995 Yamaha c85 TLrT. I've put 1200hrs on it and it runs great. I fish off shore in San Diego and troll a lot. I have a 18 Glasspar and it gets 3.4 kmpg average
